Toys for Children with and without Disabilities: Trampoline

#18 in 50 Toys in 50 Days
Part of Let Kids Play annual Holiday Toy Guide

The Jump Start Trampoline is especially great for children with autism who need the proprioceptive input of jumping.  It is perfect for keeping the  child who needs to be active indoors.  It features a five-in-one multi-game sound system that can enhance skills in counting, music and rhythm, sound recognition and memory.  So offers the opportunity for additional learning while jumping.

Jumping on a trampoline helps children figure out where they are in space and helps them begin to feel the pressure through their joints and muscles. The trampoline can help a child reduce their stress.

The soft safety cushion ensures that your child will remain safe while using the trampoline.  The trampoline’s maximum weight is 80 lbs.  It should always be used with adult supervision.  Be prepared many of the reviews say that it is a little difficult to put together, but very worth the effort.

Here is a video showing how one child uses it. This will give you the idea of how the sounds work.  You don't need to watch the whole thing : )
